Ganesh Puja,Rock On,Rex,PVR,Rajhans,Mehul etc

Wednesday,Ganesh Puja.So got a break from my daily routine of 8 to 8 office. Thank You Ganeshji.”Tushi Great Ho”.Then what to do today. Lets go for movie. Rock On. The name itself says get out you old man. This is for the youth. How time has changed from the movies like Sholay,Dewaar ,which are for all the ages of people to movies like rock on,mp3 etc etc targeting niche segments. And yes it is good for all. If you don’t like “dharma” then don’t go for it. Just book the ticket for your grand pa.Or if you want to go with your family then Karan Johar is always waiting for you..

So check the Bangalore times for the phone number for PVR.Oops!!! House full.Inox is full to. Head straight to Rex.Thanks God Rex does not have any online booking system, otherwise it would be houseful too. This is my first movie in Rex.And it has a awesome crowd. All college going students. It has a unique style. Though the seats are not so comfortable ,I enjoyed the movie with the crowds. Got thrilled with the audience applauding every scene with the actors. Even they are clapping in the tune of “Tum ho toh” is very touching. The difference between PVR and Rex is the audience.PVR got its cash from IT people who, after a week of stressful works come to PVR for a rest, generally with wife or girl friend. They don’t have energy left for clapping. On the other hand Rex fills the hunger of all college going, generation Y people. They are coming in gangs and you will overwhelmed by the chaos. It reminds to Rajhans in Surat where we used to go for movies. I still remember the day when I went for “Yuva” and the theatre was full of SVNIT junta. All SVNITan must remember the Rajhans oil ad coming three times continuously. Leaving those days behind, stuck into a cubicle is always frustrating. But life goes on.

Ok now come to the movie.” Rock on” comes with a tag line “Dream On” Right we all have a dream in our life or may be “papa kehte hain bada naam karenga” forced them to go for their parentss dream. But are we following our dream?Farhan Akhtar is choosing the right topic. He is asking us to dream. Everything is perfect in the movie. Whether it is acting by Rampal or Kohli, story, script or direction everything perfect. Credit goes to Farhan for his brilliant debut role as Aditya as well as with the songs he sings. He has taking the risk of making such a movie with such type of songs nobody tries in Hindi movies. Some scenes of the movie are happening to every musician life. Like they are playing in Dandiya for buying music equipments for their next show. Our college band with mrinabh, hozzy, chinsi plays in ONGC Bihu function for this thing only. Still rock music is not a well accepted term in Hindustan. When our college band tries to play some English numbers, they are ORDERED to play some Hindi songs. Joe(Rampal) never able to leave his guitar in life. If you thing Joe is only one on earth then meet my room mate Mehul.Even when he needs a bike still he bought Yamaha electric guitar for 18k still preferring to go in crowded BMTC bus. And the list goes on. You can definitely put “Rock On” in the line of “Almost Famous”.”Doors”,”Ray” etc though it is a fiction.

Hope we will get such type of movies and holidays in the coming days.
